Privacy and Cookie Statement

On June 5, 2012, the Dutch cookie law came into effect. This law requires websites to clearly and fully inform their visitors about the use of cookies. On February 4, 2015, a legal amendment was finalized, exempting cookies with no or minimal privacy impact from cookie legislation. However, the law still requires websites to obtain user consent for the use of privacy-sensitive cookies. Here, you can read what cookies are, what they are used for, how TKC Digital manages cookies, and how you can disable them if necessary.

Cookies on TKC Digital

Cookies are small pieces of information stored on your computer when you visit a website, used to remember your personal preferences, for instance. TKC Digital also uses cookies, so you don’t have to repeatedly enter your details when commenting on an article.

Some cookies are placed by us (first-party cookies), while others are set by third parties whose content is displayed on TKC Digital, such as social media platforms.

TKC Digital uses three types of cookies:

  1. Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the site to function. Without these functional cookies, TKC Digital will not work optimally. According to the cookie law, no consent is required for this category of cookies.

  2. Analytics Cookies
TKC Digital uses two analytics tools to measure where our visitors come from, which operating system they use, how many people read certain articles, etc. This information is crucial for us; based on these insights, we can optimize the site and make it more user-friendly. TKC Digital uses cookies from the following tools for analytics, measurement, and optimization: Google Analytics.

The collected data is processed anonymously (without your IP address) and is never shared with third parties, unless legally required. We always comply with the guidelines of the Dutch Data Protection Authority. Since the aforementioned legal amendment on February 4, 2015, no consent is required for this category of cookies.

  3. Social Media Cookies
Embedded content from social media platforms such as YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn often contains cookies. We are not aware of what these platforms do with these cookies. TKC Digital has no access to this data, nor can we influence whether these cookies are placed. According to the cookie law, we require your consent to place such embedded content (including the cookies).

    Examples include:

    • lidc: Cookie placed by LinkedIn
    • PREF, VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE & YSC: Cookies placed by YouTube

Disabling Cookies

If you prefer not to have cookies installed, you can disable them in your browser settings. Refer to your browser’s help function or settings for instructions: Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari.
Note: If you disable cookies, you may not be able to use all the functionalities of TKC Digital, which may impact your overall experience on the site.
